GUIDELINES TO SUPPORT YOUR HEALING AFTER SURGERY
(For hospital procedures or surgery, convalescence, hospice or any situation where you need a boost.)
BEFORE SURGERY
1. Build your support team in advance. This will make a huge difference. Your team includes your close friends and family, as well as your doctors, nursing staff and other healing practitioners.
2.Don’t be afraid to ask all the questions you need of your doctor, anesthesiologist, nurses and anyone else on your team before the surgery if you are going to have a surgery.
3.Have a stack of funny inspirational movies and DVDs to watch when you need to feel uplifted. The 101 Top Inspirational Comedies: Laugh Your Way to Health, has been created to help you choose good movies and to lift your spirits. It is coming soon. Indulging in a little laughter and play every day will help speed up your healing and boost your immune system. Here’s our healing mantra:- “Fun and Play, Every Day … Fun and Play, Every Day”.
4. We suggest that you get in touch with and prepare your “Perfect Healthy Healing Blueprint” in advance. You can also listen to Dr. Susan Lange’s audio CDs: “Slow Your Pace, Claim Your Space”, and “Preparing for Surgery” featured above; This first CD you can find online at www.MeridianHolistic.com, – click on Products. These CDs are designed to help your body drop into a deeper state of relaxation and healing.
If you are having surgery then you may want to get the following Nutritional support in advance.
1. Homeopathy: We suggest Arnica 200C for surgery and other procedures.Take 3 doses of 5 pellets per dose, before the surgery, 12 hours apart.
Then 5 pellets x3/day for 5days.Make sure that you take each dose 20 minutes away from food or drink.
2. Be gentle on your digestion because most of your energy needs to go into healing.
3.Jujube dates can be a good tonic to aid in convalescence.
4. Make sure that you put good bacteria back into your gut after taking medications and antibiotics. Take good quality Colostrum, and Pre and Probiotics to support your immune system and digestion. Follow the directions on the bottles.
5. The herbal formulas, Experience, or Colon Support, can keep your bowels moving in a healthy way, and to help flush out the effects of the medications and anesthesia. It is also very important after surgery and after taking a lot of medication to make sure that you are not constipated. This is a very useful formula in helping your bowels ease back to normal functioning.
6. Traumeel cream: carefully rub in to the area around the surgery after the bandages are off.
7. Listen to Susan’s audio CD “Releasing Trauma” as often as you can. (see below)
8. If you have a Q machine use it every other day for 35 minutes. It can support your healing process and can help your body in releasing the toxins and the medications that you had to take for the surgery. (If you want to know more about the Q machine call us at 310 395 9525)
